Be Wary and Be a Light

Have you wondered why we’re seeing Covid-19 numbers on the rise? What is the purpose of all this talk about a resurgence of Covid this summer? Why is the Roe v. Wade media publicity so great, including the horrible leak that impacted the Supreme Court Justices and their safety? Why are we being submerged in information about who to vote for in the primaries?

Despite all these headlines, many of us may be suspicious or left wondering what this all means. Where is the coverage of the war in Ukraine? For so long, we heard so much each day on the Ukraine issue and now we hear nothing.

What is the purpose of this?

The media shows us what they want to, which, in turn, creates confusion, as well as fear and anger. Examples of this may look like: someone wearing a mask inside or outside, protestors screaming outside of Supreme Court Justices’ homes, the shootings in Brooklyn and in California, the push of the vaccine (AGAIN!), and parents worried about how they will feed their babies during the formula shortage. Sometimes all we can do is sigh and bow our heads.

Now more than ever, it takes all we have to deal with others who are abusive if you don’t agree with them. It is so hard to be faithful followers of Christ when the world around us is falling apart.

Do you know where this confusion, fear, and anger come from? Well, today, let’s acknowledge that source, who is none other than Satan himself. Satan is trying his best to supersede God as we progress in these Pre-Rapture times. While prophecies fulfill themselves, he is creating problems in our world, such as slaughtering our babies (God’s children), familial dissent when there is a differing opinion on mask-wearing and the vaccine, and violence in the form of protesting and shootings, which creates unsafe environments for all those involved.

What can we do to fight back?

We can fight back with our hands folded instead of our hands clenched and ready to swing, brothers and sisters in Christ. Now is the time to pray for those who are in danger, war-infested lands, for those who are blinded by political agendas that do not support Godly truths, for those who are unsafe because of aggressive protestors, for those who are fighting for Godly truths despite the backlash, and most of all, we must pray for the unsaved because there will be a day when we can no longer do so for we will be with the King.

What a glorious day indeed!

For now, we must be the peace in the confusion, the light in the darkness, the just amid the injustice, and the called amid the unsaved. We can take comfort in Daniel 12:3 “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever” (NIV).
